Overview

Most people use Copilot for one-off chats. Agents are different: a custom assistant built for a specific, repeated job. Over one full day you will get hands-on with Microsoft’s flagship pre-built agents, Researcher and Analyst, then build your own from scratch in Copilot Chat’s Agent Builder. You will also meet ‘Amy’, an agent that helps you build other agents, and leave with at least two working agents you made yourself. This day builds agents in Copilot Chat, not Copilot Studio (that is the more technical next stage).

What this course covers

  • What a Copilot Agent is, and when to build one
  • Microsoft’s pre-built Researcher and Analyst agents
  • Validating AI outputs (a cited answer is not always a true one)
  • The three building blocks: name, instructions and knowledge
  • Writing strong agent instructions with RTCCO
  • Building Amy, an agent that helps you build more agents

What participants will need

  • A Microsoft 365 Copilot licence with the Frontier agents and Agent Builder
  • Confident everyday use of Copilot
  • A real, repetitive task an agent could take on
  • No technical background required

Who it’s for

  • Non-technical professionals who use Copilot but have not built agents
  • People with repetitive tasks they would love to hand off
  • Teams who want consistent, reliable output from AI
  • Anyone curious about agents but put off by the tech

By the end

  • A clear sense of when an agent beats a one-off chat
  • Confident use of the Researcher and Analyst agents
  • The habit of validating AI outputs before you trust them
  • Your own agent built from the three building blocks
  • Amy, plus at least one agent of your own
  • The skills to build more agents whenever you need them

Why TrainAI exists

TrainAI was built by Heather Murray – BBC and UK government AI advisor, regularly featured in Forbes, and founder of AI for Non-Techies.

After years of delivering AI training to organisations like Johnson & Johnson, GSK, Toyota, and the House of Lords, she kept hearing the same thing from other trainers: “I know AI matters, but I don’t have the time or the confidence to build courses from scratch.”

Corporate AI training days typically bill £1,000–£2,500+, so one delivered day covers more than a month of membership; for a team of trainers the maths compounds quickly. We won’t promise you’ll land clients within 90 days, anyone who does is over-promising, but the unit economics are transparent and you can run your own numbers.
